13 Months

We're a little late on our 13 month post because while Violet was at home celebrating her 13 month birthday, Mommy and Daddy were in NYC!

Happy 13 Months big girl!

We debated taking Violet with us but decided it was just too much for a 1 year old and, although we missed her terribly, it was the right decision.

Times Square...

We love to travel and want to take her on all our adventures with us in hopes that she will love it too but New York was too overwhelming to tackle with a baby.

This girl loves to swing!

Violet is getting so tall and starting to slim out some. Even the 4 days we spent away from her, she changed so much!

Channeling Marilyn Monroe on the floor vent...

She is working on her 6th tooth right now and is eating more and more "big people" food. She loves carrots, bananas, strawberries, watermelon and I even got her to eat green beans again the other day. She has a love/hate relationship with green beans:)

This past month we did some swimming and celebrated Aunt Hanny's high school graduation!

And we also celebrated Father's day!

Gotta love the obligatory grandkids picture...

Daddy and me...

Each month just keeps getting more and more fun with her as we watch her grow and are able to do more interactive things together. She is such a blessing and a lot of work but I'm so grateful for this new stage of our lives and so glad God picked her out just for us!

We love you baby girl!

12 Months

Violet, you are 1 Year Old today!!!!!!

It's so incredibly hard to believe we've already had one whole year with this little miracle.

You weigh 22 pounds and are 31 inches long. You are currently working hard on your 5th tooth and you wear size 12-18 month clothes.

You had quite an eventful day today! Last year Daddy had a car accident on the day we went to the hospital and today on your birthday you and Mommy got stranded with a flat tire. I hope this tradition stops this year!

You have really started to get so frustrated with yourself this month because you
 will. not. move.

You want to crawl and walk so bad!! We knew crawling would be tough since you won't do ANY tummy time but you get yourself in position and then chicken out at the last minute. You have definitely learned how to scoot around to get what you want and you somehow can stretch your arms to about 3 times their length to reach something without budging from your spot. Ha!

Busted!

You have been standing up so good while holding onto people or furniture. You even wriggle to get down while we hold you like you're just going to take off running.
I'm sure it's only a matter of time....

You have really amped up your appetite this past month and are trying all kinds of new foods. It's hard for us to eat in front of you without you reaching out for a bite!

March for Babies 2014

You've had hot dogs, watermelon, crackers, ice cream, cake.....just your average all american kind of diet!

You try to say so many new words and make lots of different sounds now. One of  my favorite new things you do is to cuddle into me or daddy if you talk to someone new or just want us to hold you.

I have a feeling that you will never be a wallflower but right now I think it is so sweet:)

My sweet Violet girl,

There are not enough words in the world to express how much of a blessing you are to our family. You have been in our hearts so very long before we ever held you in our arms. Every tear you cry, I've cried a thousand more just waiting for you. You have made us smile a lifetime worth of smiles in this one very short year. You are such a spitfire and I just know that God has big plans for you! I have always prayed that your light would shine and people would be blessed just by being near you. It seems like everywhere we go people are just drawn to you.  We can't take you anywhere without someone coming over to see you and probably saying "Look at that perfect baby".

It has been such a humbling year for us as we stumbled through this new wave of parenthood. You have made us more compassionate, less prideful, and so incredibly honored to be your parents. Some of the highlights of my entire life have been rocking you to sleep and I feel like I drink in every moment I get.  You are a wonderful, miraculous little girl.

I am yours....and you are mine.

11 Months

Violet you are 11 Months Old today!

You weigh about 23 pounds and are wearing size 12-18 month clothes.

Sink bath at Grami's...

We haven't measured your height but I can tell that you are definitely getting taller. You're already almost as tall as your momma!

Selfies with Daddy...

This month you have really been working hard on teething. And we finally got a good picture.
 You have 4 teeth!

You are starting to wave "Bye Bye" and you love to give us High Fives.

Always happy when you get to play with Mommy's phone...

We are really working on standing since you don't seem to be interested in crawling. Today you stood holding on to the couch for quite awhile all by yourself!

You are talking up a storm but ever since you've learned how to say "DaDa", you've tossed "MaMa" aside like a bad habit. You also call Elly "BaBa".  And one time you said "PooP".  I'm so proud...

Potato face...

Get ready for some picture overload...!!!

We celebrated a couple special events this month. One of them was Auntie Hannah's Prom...

And another one was your first Easter!

You also finally got to go to the zoo with Daddy:)

I am really trying to soak up this next month because then you will be 1 year old and soon you won't be my little baby Violet anymore. You'll be my big girl Violet:)

We love watching you learn and grow everyday. You are the biggest blessing we could ever ask for and we are having so much fun with you!

Just your average Toga Sunday...

10 months

Violet you are 10 Months old!

You are about 21 pounds and are wearing 12 month clothes and still holding strong in size 3 diapers.

Wearing Grandma Lannan's pearls...

I can't tell that you've grown that much in size from last month but who knows...:)

You do seem older though! You are talking so much this month. You say:

Mama
Dada
Bye Bye
Hi

It's basically the same things from last month but you say them so much more now!

I've also been teaching you to sign "Milk" and you do it sometimes.

You "talk" all the time and even sing with us or the radio. You still blow raspberries and sometimes you yell realllly loud when you want someones attention. Your lungs are definitely healthy!

Right at the beginning of this month Mommy and Daddy left you at home with your grandparents while we went to St. Croix for a work trip for Daddy. It was so hard to leave you but you did so good! We're so blessed that we had the opportunity to take this trip and that we had great people here to take care of you.

You've  become a pro at eating puffs this month. We've tried to give them to you last month and you would always choke on them but now you love them! Soon you'll be eating all kinds of finger foods.

We've been able to give you different baby food as well.  You still favor Sweet Potatoes and Pears. Green Beans used to be a favorite but it seems they upset your stomach sometimes now so we go with Garden Vegetables more instead.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We finally had a nice day and went to the zoo with our neighbors. You had your first carousel ride and your first time on the swings. You loved all of it! I can't wait to spend the summer there and see all the fun we're gonna have:)
at the Zoo...

Your biggest news this month is that you are finally getting a tooth! There is no way you'll let me get a picture of it either:) It's your bottom left front tooth and you have been working so hard on it. Bless your heart you have been so fussy with this tooth and I can't wait until it's finally all the way in. I hope it's not like this with all your teeth!

Visiting with Grandpa and Aunt Trish

SomeBunny is awfully precious:)
